Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most about Frigya. If you cannot find yours, ask at info@adlans.com.
What is Frigya?
Frigya is a mobile language learning app that focuses on vocabulary. It has two stages: Discover, where you meet new words, and Learn, where you lock them in with spaced repetition. See How it works.
Is Frigya free?
Yes. According to the Terms of Use, Frigya is a free educational app and currently contains no ads or in-app purchases. Free use has limits on how many new words you can discover (guests have fewer, signed-in users have more, and a small extra allowance continues daily). You will see the exact limits in the app; we do not publish figures here.
Do I need an account?
No. The app opens in guest mode with no account. If you want to keep your progress you can link a Google account (Apple on the iOS version).
Which languages can I learn?
The 11 languages other than your interface language. With English selected: Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish and Turkish. See Languages.
Which languages is the app available in?
The interface comes in 12 languages: English, Turkish, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch and Finnish.
What levels are covered?
Words are grouped by CEFR level: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. For each language you choose which levels to study. See Levels.
What is the difference between Discover and Learn?
In Discover you meet new words one at a time; a word you get right on the first try counts as already known. In Learn you reinforce the words you have met with spaced repetition. Learn unlocks after you discover your first few words.
What is spaced repetition?
A learning method where you see something again just before you would forget it. Because reviews are spread out, the same study time produces longer-lasting memory. More: What is spaced repetition?
What do the questions look like? Is it always multiple choice?
Yes, questions are multiple choice. The wrong options come at random from a large pool at the same level. Many questions ask for the word inside a sentence.
How do I set my daily goal?
Choose how many new words to discover each day: 5, 10, 20, 40 or 50. The goal is per language, can be changed at any time and can be exceeded.
Can I study more than one language?
Yes. Add several target languages at once and choose a separate level and daily goal for each. Removing a language does not delete your progress.
If I remove a language, is my progress deleted?
No. Removing a target language does not delete your progress; add it again and you continue where you left off.
Is there audio?
Yes. You can listen to words and example sentences, turn on automatic audio for questions and optionally have the answer options read aloud.
What is a streak?
A counter for your study consistency over consecutive days. You see your current streak on the home screen, and your longest streak and the number of days you exceeded your goal in the last 30 days in the goal history.
Is my progress kept if I change phones?
If you link an account, yes: signing in with Google on Android (Apple on iOS) keeps your progress across devices. In guest mode progress is tied to the device, and the app reminds you to create an account.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings > Delete my account; your account and data are deleted immediately and permanently. If you no longer have the app on your phone, email info@adlans.com with the Google email address linked to your account; requests are processed within 30 days at the latest. Steps: Account and data deletion.
What data is collected?
If you sign in with Google: your Google account info (name, email, profile photo); with Apple (iPhone only): your email or Apple's random relay address. Also invite code information, your native and target languages, your learning history, daily streak/goal data, a device/session ID in guest mode, crash reports and, if you give them, ratings and comments. Location, contacts, photos, payment details, health data and advertising ID are not collected. Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (Switzerland-based data center) and is not shared with any third party for advertising. Official text: Privacy Policy.
Are there ads?
No. According to its Google Play listing Frigya is ad-free, according to the Terms of Use it currently contains no ads, and according to the Privacy Policy your data is not shared with or sold to any third party for advertising.
When is the iPhone version coming?
The App Store version is not live yet; preparations are under way. We are not giving a date. We will announce it on the Download page.
Is there a dark theme?
Yes: Light, Dark and System. You can also customize the sections (widgets) on the home screen.
How do I invite a friend?
The "Invite a friend" section of the app has a personal invite code. According to the Privacy Policy, invite code information is used for the premium reward system, and according to the Google Play listing both you and your friend earn a reward. You will see the details in the app.
Why can't I choose my own language as a target?
Frigya is designed to help you learn languages other than your own. Your interface language is treated as your own language and is not listed as a target.
Is Frigya an exam-prep app?
Frigya is not an official exam preparation app. It is designed to grow your vocabulary systematically, and you can use it as a vocabulary study aid while preparing for exams such as IELTS or TOEFL.
Who do I contact if something goes wrong?
Write to info@adlans.com. Mentioning your phone model and a short description of the problem helps. See Contact.
